Knees Please

Went to my ortho guy this morning since my left knee's been bugging me. The most recent MRI showed nothing wrong, so of course he was looking at me like I was crazy. He pulled the last MRI results & sure enough, there was torn cartilage under my kneecap. I think my knee might have been slightly bent the last time, & this time around my leg was laying flat.

But, it's not serious, it's just irksome because it catches & I have to work at it to get my leg to bend. I'll probably get it fixed next year unless I do something hideous to myself between now & then.

So I guess I'm going to have to find something else to bitch about :P

I like okapis. They're making a comeback.

I'm sitting here reading AIM news, & they have this nifty feature about old cookbooks & the horrible, horrible recipes that lurk inside them.

Liver Mousse in Port Aspic is particularly gruesome, but AIM's blurb is priceless:

I pretty much have to agree. I'm not a huge fan of Jell-O or gelatin desserts, but meat-flavored gelatin is even nastier. I will never eat a canned ham because of the jelly factor.

Their comment for the Gold Medal Flour Cook Book from 1917:

"We get that wartime cuisine is all about maximizing the use of inexpensive foods, but after reading this, we can happily go the rest of our lives without seeing another recipe that includes the phrase, "Boil head."
