Help Haiti - But Please Be Careful
I've posted about this on facebook & the pagan forums I frequent, but for anyone who chances on this blog or who doesn't visit my e-footprints elsewhere:
Please, be cautious if you are donating money or emergency items to Haiti. Please visit bona fide relief organizations and charities. There are going to be a lot of unscrupulous people out there looking to take advantage of your good will, generosity and compassion. Make sure that your money, time or material goods will have a better chance of actually getting to where they are supposed to go and where they will help make a difference, instead of lining someone's pockets.
For the US, here are some legitimate places to start:
Network for Good
White House blog
National Public Radio
International Red Cross/Red Crescent
Doctors Without Borders
Partners in Health
