I think what makes it even more horrible is that I can't just tell her to take her racist shit & shove it because we need the money & housing she gives us. We're constantly obligated to the in-laws. Drives me up a wall. The best I can do is just leave the room when she comes over or leave the vicinity when we're over at her home & she starts spouting nonsense.

At least when it comes from other people, I can call them out & embarrass them - "Hey everyone, this guy just told me a racist joke. Hey guy, why not repeat that so everyone can hear?"
