I can go without speaking unnecessarily for years, so for me to completely stop talking altogether is not much of a stretch. It seems to upset people when I am silent, though. I speak more for the benefit of others than I do to express any deep seated need for aimless chatter. I believe that speech is sacred and words have power - and sometimes a little goes a long way.
