Netflix

I signed up for a free trial for Netflix - I'm already hooked & I think I'm going to spend the monthly fee to keep it. Rob & I can watch different stuff on our computers - it's freaking awesome. I can also stream stuff like the Autopsy series & Cold Case Files.

There are a lot of movies & whatnot I've wanted to watch or check out, but don't necessarily want to buy. Our movie library is relatively small. We don't go out & drop wads of cash on every new movie - only the things we know for certain we're going to watch over & over again. Normally, that's where Hollywood Movies would come in because we'd go rent a movie every couple of months. However, the one by our house is out of business (we missed the sale, too, blargh!) & we're not going to drive across town to rent something. We went to Wal-Mart & BestBuy tonight to price movies, but the selections are depressingly limited & overpriced. I'm not going to pay $100 for a collection of anime when I'm not sure if I'm going to like it or not. I was thinking, well, we don't have our WoW subscriptions anymore, maybe we should get basic cable again - Rob's already going nuts w/out something to keep him occupied all day. But, most of what I've been seeing on t.v. at work is not appealing to me - just how much has reality programming taken over the airwaves?

That's where Netflix came in. It's the awesome. My only beef with it is that it won't work on SeaMonkey, & not
everything they have can be streamed instantly :P

Better than Cable Already

That was my line of thinking w/it. You do have to provide a credit card or debit card to sign up, but a free trial's a free trial. The basic one is $9.99 where you get x amount of streaming content and one movie out at a time. The next level is I think $11.99 w/unlimited streaming & one movie out at a time. I went w/the $13.99 - unlimited streaming & 2 movies out at a time. The next one was $16.99 & has 3 or 5 movies out at a time, can't remember which, but Rob & I aren't going to have 3 - 5 movies out at once - you guys might because of the kids.
