This is Disgusting

Sunday night I woke up feeling kind of blegh. Bloated, over-full, achey. I figured it was just me not getting much sleep. I had stayed up til noon & slept til maybe 4pm. I tried to eat dinner, but just couldn't. The body wasn't having it at all. Went to bed kind of early, got up Monday feeling the exact same way, only with crippling lower back pain. My stomach had chimed in with its own peculiar brand of 'hot poker stuck through it & out my back' pain, which normally indicates that my ulcer has flared up again.

Monday night I got hit with a wave of intensely acidic diarrhea. That shit (literally) hurt so bad it brought tears to my eyes just thinking about it. That stuck around all night. I went to bed with a heating pad for my back since nothing I took to relieve the pain stayed inside me long enough to be effective.

Yesterday, the acid was mostly gone. I tried eating a frozen waffle with some apple sauce on it, and that actually seemed to relieve the diarrhea a little, but by Tuesday afternoon it was back again, with a vengeance.

I had a conveniently scheduled doctor's appt. this morning to get my prescriptions refilled. I described my symptoms to the doctor, including finding out I've got a fever & I've lost 3 pounds since Friday. The doc hit me with a full round of diagnostic tests - stool & urine samples, H. pylori breathalyzer test, chest & abdominal x-rays... She thinks it's either my pancreas or gall bladder. Rob is freaked out about it maybe being giardia - he had that in Oregon. The back pain points at gall bladder, along with the 4 F's - fat, fair, female & 40 (almost).

The worst part of it is, due to having to provide samples, I've gotten to see foods that I ate last week some time. I'm like, "huh, when did I have lima beans last?" Normally, unless it's excruciatingly painful, I don't look in the toilet when I'm finished. I wipe, I flush, I forget. I'm not interested in getting intimately acquainted with my own waste products. Having to strain my urine last year due to the kidney stone was bad enough, but the playing with poop is not my thing.

The other problem is that I'm fucking starving right now, but eating only means more running. I called into work tonight - they would have most likely sent me home anyway - diarrhea and working with the public is a big major no-no. I did find out that Vitamin Water is not bad, and has no artificial sweeteners. I can drink it easier than Gatorade or Pedialyte (which I couldn't even find in Wal-Greens). Of all the possibilities, I'm thinking gall bladder might be the best - they can just yank that thing out, no worries.
