Om Shaanti Shaanti Shaanti - it's a general request for Peace... and the most famous, Om Mani Padme Huum - the jewel is in the lotus, all is well. The pronunciation is a little funky - Ome Money Pothmay Hoong. I've found that the reason the Jewel in the Lotus mantra works so well is because I have to concentrate on how to say it.
Jeff just sort of hung out w/me last night. It was weird - he usually doesn't hide out. We had quiet time together, just me, him & the music blatting out of the audit computer's CD-Rom... Brad dropped by, said he 'felt the need to worship at the feet of the Dark Mistress'. Everyone's feeling the strain, I think. The MGM/Mirage deal closes in the next 2 weeks, and we're all in limbo. Change is going to happen soon, whether anyone likes it or not. Everyone keeps saying, "Oh, they're not going to change anything around the Excalibur - why should they?"... well, for one, the MGM uses a completely different computer system. For two, they're NON-UNION. They'll change things because they can. They may not fiddle w/things right away, but I'm sure the next 3 - 4 mos. are going to be interesting, to say the least. I don't have a lot of faith in keeping my job... but, I was looking for a job when I got this one, and it's been a good experience. And sometimes, forceful external change is what one needs most in life.
