All Sewn Up!

Chelsie did not, in fact, eat a safety pin. She ate a fucking embroidery or sewing needle, complete w/thread in the eye.

Somehow, she managed to pass it from her stomach to her colon between yesterday & today, the vet gave her an enema, we walked her around for awhile & nature took its course.

Thank you all for the good wishes - it worked :)

Oh, yeah, as we were leaving Rob's mom house (she gave us a donation towards vet care expenses), driving up the road towards the highway, there were two ravens, one on each street sign at an intersection we passed. The first one gave us a good, long caw.

I like the desert.

Thank goodness for no surgery! Yay for you and your little family, I'm glad Chelsie is okay.

Also, heh, ravens. I watched the local pair today while I was watering the garden. They sat on their lofty tree and watched me back. :)

No Complications So Far

We've been keeping a close eye on her - no vomiting, blood or pale gums, so hopefully the needle didn't perforate anything on its way out.

I wish we had neighborhood ravens, but seeing them when we're out & about is almost better, I think. It reminds me that we're the visitors to the desert - it belongs to the ravens and rattlesnakes and coyotes.

Pain in the Ass

We are, too! I felt sorry for the vet tech that had to sift through it all, lol.

That's great that everything worked out for Chelsie and there was no surgery!

Whenever I see ravens I think of Pia, because they are like her animal. I like living in a place where ravens are fairly common. It makes me feel like P is watching over me. ^_-

A Raven's World

We're relieved, and throwing away anything that the dog can swallow, even if it's somewhere that she shouldn't be able to get to. The dog can open doors & drawers, so we're pretty much screwed as far as 'safe' places to keep things go.

For us, well, Rob's a follower of Odin. If we're going to see ravens, it's always two ravens. Never one, never three... always two ravens. It's kind of weird. O.o
