I just got a message on facebook that my friend Ann is in complete liver failure & her mom is seeking hospice care.

It's kind of funny. I don't want a drink right now.

There is seriously something fucking wrong with me. Ann is probably dying, and all I can think is, "Gee, now she won't have to worry about her student loans".

I don't know a lot about this kind of stuff, but that sounds like shock/dissociation to me and is a normal coping mechanism for this kind of stuff.

I think the weirdest things when people are dying, or have died. When my cousin Ben committed suicide I thought 'geez, hope I'm not expected to go to the funeral.'

The reality of it just sorta smacks you in the face...those sort of comments and thoughts are like the recoil from the shock..*hugs* I know how hard it can be to swallow....
