Storm Watch
Aug. 29th, 2005 07:53 amSeems like I've been watching CNN all night. Hurricane Katrina made landfall this morning around 7am Eastern time (4am our time). N'Awlins is under some water - I'm sure some of the dead are visiting their relatives right now... In some places in the world, the phrase 'Any day above ground is a good day' just doesn't really apply. One reporter (Cooper Anderson) is in Baton Rouge on a barge that's having a close encounter w/an oil rig's crane. People were outside on shore behind him - two people in raincoats were jumping into the air & letting the wind blow them around. The Superdome, which is sheltering about 10,000 people, is now being evacuated because the roof covering blew off.
Blessings of protection to y'all out there. Stay safe, may your homes stay safe and no harm befall ya.
