Life's Little Oddities
Nov. 22nd, 2005 07:56 amI saw a skate-boarding monk this morning. I didn't know we had any monastic orders here in Vegas. He was either a Jesuit or a Franciscan (black robe).
It reminded me of these two rollerskating nuns who used to pass me every morning as I walked to school. I was living in Ontario, CA & the Catholic high school was a couple of blocks up from Chaffee High School. The first time I saw them I had to sit down on the sidewalk til the hysterical fit of the giggles subsiding. They 'power' skated, arms tucked tight in to their rib cages, bent over for maximum airflow...
Sometimes the world can be an interesting place.
