There is going to be an incredible amount of coursework for me this semester - holy crap, what did I get myself into? I wish there was a way to preview each teacher's courses before registering. Of course, some of these folk would be out of a job because people would see what they wanted from their students & say to themselves, "Oh, Hell no!"
Went to Stuart Anderson's Black Angus last night, finally got around to leaving the house. Rob ordered a lobster tail for himself - seeing the man eat seafood, real seafood, was strange. And he liked it. Weird. I had the world's biggest Black & Tan. 25 oz. I ordered it as a whim & me & Rob could only drink half of it. The thing was huge! I could barely lift the mug, and I accidentally tapped the side when I first got it, so it foamed over & made a huge mess. Ah well, all in a good time. I had the prime rib & lobster tail, which was much better than I expected it to be. The lobster was tender w/out being mushy, and not overly-spiced so you could taste that buttery sweetness that is what lobster is all about.
Even though I was full to the point of being ready for a vomitorium, I ordered a creme brulee for dessert. I've never actually had creme brulee - I always think to myself, mmm, warm pudding. So I got it, and the top was carmelized and crackly, just like the Food Network says it should be. It was actually a wonderful dessert. Light, flavorful. It had this true vanilla flavor, a creamy texture and the carmelized sugar added an extra dimension that I wasn't really expecting. It was kind of like homemade French vanilla ice cream without the mind-numbing, teeth-killing chill. I'll probably start looking for it whenever we go out to eat, because I could definitely have more of that!
So anyway, we got home & I pretty much passed out on the couch while Rob played WoW. We had all these intentions of having sex, but the beer/food combo sort of blew that. I did give Rob a blow job about 4am - mmm, lobstery!
(Edited for conted 4/7/08 as I no longer have the second journal)
