Downloaded music
Feb. 27th, 2006 07:56 amAhh, I just could not wait... I had to download 'Black Horse and the Cherry Tree' last night... I let Limewire run when I went to work, & the first thing I did when I got home was listen to that gorgeous voice just belt it out. I know some people think I'm fickle - forsaking the Mighty Zep for Metallica, Metallica gave way to NIN, NIN to Rob Zombie, Rob Zombie to Train... but I've been relatively faithful to Train, til now. There's just been some amazing music coming out, and some amazing musicians that I discovered over the past year or two, like the Afro Celts. And 'Drops of Jupiter' still stops my world.
Yanno, there are so many beautiful, incredible, inspired and inspiring artists out there - I just don't understand why people like N'Sync & Britney Spears get all the radio play. I mean, yeah, sometimes I have my pure music trash moments and I have a thing for stuff like Ronco Records 'Best of '70's AM Gold', but damn, beyond all the 'Wild Fires' and Air Supply is a true appreciation for the human voice and the ability to pick up an instrument and make it walk & talk.
So I've got school stuff to do, and random meandering around the 'Net as always. I've got my first Human Resources Management test coming up on Tues. Last night I was catching up on my reading & there are these ethics questions at the end of each chapter. One of them involved 'Brad'... 'Brad and you are eating pizza at an outdoors picnic area provided by your employer. After lunch, Brad lights a marijuana cigarette. What do you do?'
I told The Brad, aka Beaker, that the next time we get pizza from Room Service he better keep his weed in his pocket, because the textbook writers are onto his little antics.
