Self-Demotion
Jul. 28th, 2007 01:30 amTomorrow night I'm going to talk to Justin & let him know I'd like to be a steady-extra front desk clerk. Yeah, it's a .50c pay cut & yeah, I'll be the bottom steady on the seniority list... but I can refuse up to 20% of shifts offered, I won't lose my health insurance and I'll have no more night audit responsibility. And because I'll be a steady extra they won't be able to use me as a relief night auditor, either.
If they're expecting night auditors to pull double duty as both auditor and desk clerk, why put up w/all the extra aggravation?
Rob's okay with it, mostly because I can refuse shifts. Right now, at least, all the steadies are getting f/t work.
This (well, technically yesterday) morning I put in 4 applications for Nevada State, including one as an unemployment insurance office assistant. I find that amusing - quitting a job to go to work for unemployment.
