Today I learned about ASCAP & BMI. Interesting stuff. ASCAP's boycott of radio stations & the subsequent inception of BMI was responsible for the popularity of rock & roll. They also set early precedents for today's copyright & intellectual property laws. So, yay & boo to performance rights organizations.
