I'm sitting here watching "I Love the 70's" on VH1. They showed the Chiffon Margarine commercial, circa 1972... I remember those commercials - it must have been an amazingly successful ad campaign seeing as I wasn't even born til the end of '73. Anyway, I'm sitting there looking at this woman surrounded by birds & trees, wearing a white robe, talking about how this margarine wasn't her "nice creamery butter" & I had a revelation that the "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" ad campaign is not very original. And then she raises her arms & says, "It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature" and all the birds get flustered & lightning crashes in the background, and I had another revelation... I think I became a Pagan because of the direct influence of the Chiffon Margarine commercials.
