Third time's the charm - Sheung-Yee got promoted to supervisor. Finally they stopped kicking her around. I was worried though, because Dino, a former night auditor had also put in for the position. Honestly, Dino should have gotten it - he's got years more experience, he's worked every shift, he's cross trained in all the hotel departments & he trains new people. But now her lead position is open so maybe he'll take that.

I just fell down a few minutes ago. It's been a long time since I took a fall. Yeah, my knees go rubbery, I feel bone slide on bone, my ankles twist, my feet roooolllll... but I haven't fallen down in a few years.

(I'm not looking for pity or sympathy here - this is a good place to document shit in case I end up having to go to QuikCare).
I was helping Rob take the garbage out, I took a step... and watched the ground rise up to meet me, felt my knee do some gyrations, watched my ankle bend & twist in ways ankles aren't supposed to move... I howled pretty good, then sat there trying to put my shoe back on while I figured out exactly what parts of me I didn't break. I cracked my elbow pretty good - my elbow has a perfectly round, black bruise on it (I wore my leather long rider last night & without its armor, my elbow would probably be all scraped to Hel), I smacked the back of my hand, and the toes of my left foot got scraped & are alternately stinging & throbbing. After seeing my ankle perform a combination of contortion, yoga & Swan Lake all by itself, I was so surprised my fall didn't end in that oh-so-familiar popcorn sound of bones breaking followed by nauseating and exruciating pain. I also didn't get that snapped-windowshade feeling of ligaments tearing & rolling under my skin. It scared the crap outta Rob when I howled & he got to see my amazing ankle acrobatics. We ended up arguing about the freaking bag of garbage, but he wouldn't let me stand up right away.

However, parts of me that didn't hurt about 15 minutes ago are now starting to wake up. Hopefully, in about 15 more minutes, the Tylenol 3 I took will kick in and I will be feeling nothing. Of course, now that I'm actually looking at my feet, I have this weird caved in spot on the top of one & I think I may have dislocated one of those bones. Pulling on my toes is far too uncomfortable to experiment with further. What's even worse is yesterday around 1pm, I was woken by a screamingly painful charlie horse in my left leg that left my leg feeling spasmed & like it was going to re-cramp at any moment (it still fucking hurts, too)... and now I'm all limpy in my right leg. Someone needs to just shoot me like a lame horse.

So anyway, I'm looking forward to a class for a change. By Summer semester of next year, my Gen Ed classes will be done & over with in case I have a desire to change my major... I canceled my vacation once again due to the cluster-fuckage of a new shift. Maybe at the end of March I'll take my last week of vacation for this year & the first week of vacation for the next year... I don't know, though - I'd like a vacation before the new semester starts so I can sit around & play Warcraft for a week. We're also planning an honest-to-goodness going somewhere out of state vacation for September. I'd really like to go to Washington & show Rob what I remember - and if it's during the Puyallup Fair, so much the better. Funnel cakes!!!
