Dream

Ah, Elavil. I missed you so much. Freaky dreams are better than no dreams and no sleep at all.

I dreamed last night that I was doing some kind of work in a rundown building that was full of cobwebs. It was probably something electrical because I was squeezing into crawlspaces & fighting dusty insulation, but I don't remember clearly what I was doing. Anyway, when I was done and home, I took a shower and as I was combing out my hair (which was still long, and far longer than I've had my hair in a long time), I saw there were spiders caught in it, along with spider husks... So I started frantically combing the spiders out of my hair, only to notice more spiders crawling around on my scalp. Blarrgghhhh!!!

I think it's mostly because we watched The Mist the other night.

Bodycount Then & Now

On my streaming radio here at work, I've got Bodycount marked as a favorite. I'm starting to wonder exactly why I like Bodycount. Or why I ever liked them. Was it the novelty? Was it because I liked Ice T at the time? Was it the politics and controversy that Cop Killer stirred up? Was I just following the herd on that one? The lyrics are still pretty funny, but now that I'm listening more to the music behind the lyrics I'm realizing they were really bad. Awful musicians. They couldn't keep time, they had weird tonal changes. On some of the songs the guitarist goes into the bridge one way & ends with something completely different on the other side, as if he forgot what he was supposed to be playing halfway through. I remember the highlight of my life was getting thrown off the Huntridge's stage & into the mosh pit during the Bodycount show Eric took me to. Now, Bodycount comes on my streaming radio & I wonder to myself, "What the fuck was I thinking?!" It's sad and a clear sign that I'm getting old.

At least KMFDM still sounds good to me. I wish they'd play them on one of the radio stations out here. I am so very spoiled - I can barely stand to listen to the car radio anymore - commercials, dj banter and repetitive play lists are killing me.
