Hee hee... I got suckered into buying a margarita mix at Lee's Discount Liquor today, mainly because the woman doing the tasting had bodacious tatas, but I digress. In case anyone is wondering, it's 'The Margarita King's Pomegranate Margarita Mix' with tequila & triple-distilled orange liqueuer.

A coupla Yules ago, Rob got me the Magic Bullet blender set, & I haven't used it that much. It makes awesome chocolate malted milk because it thoroughly blends the chocolate syrup & powdered malt into the milk, & I've made some chopped celery for chicken salad. Honestly, I get a little intimidated by new technology & it can take me awhile to warm up to something. Now, the Vidalia Chop-Wizard - that I warmed up to pretty darned fast because I abhor chopping vegetables into little cubes. At any rate, I was sitting here wanting my new pomegranate margarita, but I didn't really want a margarita on the rocks. They're ok, but I am a fangirl for frozen blended drinks.

I looked on teh interwebz to see if the Magic Bullet could be used to chop ice... and lo & behold, it can. So I proceeded to make myself a frozen blended pomegranate margarita :D It was awesome & I think the Magic Bullet is going to be my new best friend this summer. I just paid almost $5 at the mall today for a strawberry-watermelon slushie from Surf City Smoothies.

Some of the online reviews are pretty tough on the Magic Bullet, but I started with just a few ice cubes & a little margarita mix at a time - I think a lot of people probably fill up one of the big cups. Stuff expands when you blend it because it mixes air into the substance being blended. I made the same mistake the first time I made myself chocolate malted milk - chocolate malted milk sprayed everywhere.

I've still been having some appetite problems since my almost-stroke (the persistent heartburn finally went away, two days after I saw my doctor about it, meh), but fruit always goes down pretty easy... and it goes down even easier if it's frozen, blended & has tequila in it.

In other news, about two weeks ago the couch broke. We've been shopping for a new one. Things were a whole helluva lot easier when we just drove around town liberating furniture from sidewalks & dumpsters. I've got this thing about bedbugs now, though, so no liberated furniture anymore. New couches are fucking expensive. The stores out here sell sectional couches a la carte & each piece is like, $500. It's ridiculous. Not only that, but you can't just browse furniture stores out here - the salespeople stick to your ass the whole time you're there, like greasy schmoozing ass-ticks. Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think I've ever been to an actual furniture store other than this discount place called Walker Furniture. Walker Furniture has been having a 'going out of business sale' for the past 20 years. They used to have a weekend tent sale & they finally just put up a pre-fab building - but even the salespeople at Walker were ass-ticks. We finally decided on a cheap futon from Wal-Mart, which was kind of refreshing because the employee we asked to help us was like the Anti-Salesperson. We asked if we could take a look at the box, mainly because we wanted to make sure it wasn't a return & he told us, "It's really heavy, so if I go in the back & bring it out, you have to buy it." We told him why we wanted to look at the box & he said, "Of course the box is going to be trashed because it comes off the truck from the warehouse". Rob asked him, "You really don't want us to buy that futon, do you?" & the guy just rolled his eyes & said, "I don't care, I'm going back to work" & walked off. I'm thinking maybe I should work for Wal-Mart.

Oh, speaking of work... had my interview for the Recorder's Office today. The whole time I had Fake It going through my head. Interviewers always ask this question: "Why do you think you're the perfect candidate for this job?" & this time I had an answer other than 'Uh, I can multitask'. I said, "I have an 'inner librarian' and I'm very interested in the preservation and archiving of documents. The Recorder's Office isn't just recording legal transactions, it is recording history, and I want to be a part of that." Then they asked me if I had any questions & I asked if they would be offering online services & the one interviewer got all excited that he was able to tell someone about the exciting new online ordering system.

I think, though, that I'm going to give a couple of orphans the grand tour of Azeroth & then I'm off to bed.
