It's from Lovecraft's Chthulu mythos. It roughly means, "In His house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu lies dreaming". It seemed random enough, lol :) That, and Cthulhu's energy has been strong around my house for the past two months. He's commandeered the television.
2. Whats the furtherest place from home you have been to (physically)
Well... I don't know about the actual miles, but I've been up the coast of Alaska & also down south of Acapulco in Mexico.
3. Whats your fav desert flower?
It is datura, D. stramonium, better known out here as jimsonweed. It's my ally.
4. What piercings do you have?
Right now, just my ears. I've been working for a corporation, so I can't have any facial piercings. Getting my nipples pierced ended in me taking the rings out because they irritated me & wouldn't heal correctly.
5. Have you stopped eating deadly artificial sweetener??
Well, my husband proved allergic to Sucralose, so I finished off his Xtend Bar & there is still a yogurt sitting in the fridge that I will probably polish off. We're probably donating all the other artificially sweetened Jell-Os and puddings to various diet-frenzied people at my job.
1. What's your favourite food to cook?
I enjoy baking. I like the physicality of kneading dough, rolling it out, the time and attention bread needs. The smell that fills the house while it's baking. Baking bread is Zen for me. My kitchens have been seriously lacking in decent counter space over the past few years, and I've lacked time to make things. Now that Rob's got a sugar problem, bread is taboo in our house :P
2. What's something that you find romantic or sweet, that isn't conventionally romantic or sweet?
This one is hard because I lack sentimentality. Someone buys me flowers or candy in a heart-shaped box & I get annoyed. (Ok, so, I get more annoyed by flowers dying in a vase than with the candy, but a square box or a bag of M&Ms would suit me as well as a heart-shaped box). Balloons are creepy. For some reason, I like skeletons doing non-skeletal things... Victorian memento mori would probably be the closest thing to romance I can come up with. A Nightmare Before Christmas & The Addams Family are both romantic in their own ways, but it's easy to see the romance in them. Same with Dracula.
3. Are you happier now, than you were 10 years ago. Why do you think this is?
Er, no. Not happy. My emotional state has seriously declined, and this is mostly because of my employment. I feel like it's sucked the soul from me. I also think my emotional state is based a lot on the fact that I have no time for cultivating my spiritual side - I live w/this constant time-money equation that never balances out.
4. What do you like the most about your job?
The only thing I like about my job is going home at the end of the day - that feeling of exhiliration and relief that hits me when I hit the exit door. I used to say my coworkers were the best part of my job, but I don't like them anymore, either.
5. What is your favourite fairytale?
This one is terrifically hard because I love fairytales and myths. One of my favorite series is the collection of adult-minded fairytale anthologies edited by Terry Windling & Ellen Datlow. I also like the work of Clarissa Pinkola Estes. But going back to the Brothers Grimm, et al... I think it's probably The Frog Prince and The Goose Girl. And anything with Baba Yaga in it :)

(Yeah, I know, it sounds like I'm taking a survey, but it's honest curiousity - I 'see' sounds and 'smell' colors... honestly, I think Disney's Fantasia is what set off the seeing of colors, and it's stuck with me for all these years)
