I stole the meme, but y'all know I can't take a compliment.

Compliments are a great way to boost a person's self esteem, they can raise your spirits when you're down and just generally make a person feel good.

So... leave me a complimenting comment! Am I a good listener? A good writer? Do I have mad rambling skills? You can make my day with just a few nice words. Then, be sure to post this in your own LJ so that others can do the same for you!

I love how witty and acerbic you can be (seriosly!), I sometimes wonder exactly how you'd communicate with people if there were no consequences, I think you'd come up with some of the best insults known to mankind. I also love that you love your dragons. :D

How Insulting...

Sometimes I do whip out some good insults, and in public, too :D I like ones with a lot of word play that make people think back & ponder, "Did she just insult me?"

It's a real talent, it's the kind of thing which isn't prized as much anymore which is a shame, but that kind of wit / wordplay is hard to find. Did you always have it?

I was raised on British literature & humor. Back in the day, our Public Broadcasting Service, aka PBS, used to have almost nothing but British shows on it, aside from Sesame Street & other kiddie shows.

I grew up watching Benny Hill, Dr. Who, The Black Adder, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Fawlty Towers, & reading good Brit lit like The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy (the movie just couldn't top the PBS series). My parents also watched the celebrity roasts & things like SNL & The Laugh-In. They weren't big fans of over-the-top sit-coms or soap operas - Taxi & Cheers were more their speed.

Soooo, I picked up some classic timing, the skill of double entendré, and somehow developed into Attila the Pun.

(And oh, I finally found it... my favorite freaking show of all time, that I could never remember the title - Up Pompeii! Oh, Gods, it's on youtube - I so know what I'm doing tonight!)
