It kind of depends on how badly I might need that $100 dollars. Sometimes, I've been in situations where found money helped my husband & I make it to next payday. One time, I found a $20 bill stuck to a shopping cart wheel. We only had $10 to make it 2 weeks. The Gods tend to provide in times of great necessity.
Most of the time I'm honest. If a clerk miscounts my change in my favor, I'll let the clerk know & give them the money back. I've had customers at various cash-handling jobs accidentally give me too much & act so surprised when I've handed the extra back to them. There's nothing wrong with doing the right thing, even when no one's watching.
