Had a follow-up with the doc. It's not my gallbladder or my pancreas - it's my kidney again.
There is a 14mm stone this time around, with other calculi and associated 'phleboliths', which are tiny stones that form inside veins.
What probably happened earlier this month was the stone dropped from my kidney into my bladder, hence the severe back pain. I also was having trouble peeing, but I thought it was because of the diarrhea & didn't think it was the other way around - my body reabsorbing liquid from my kidney & passing it out through any means necessary since the kidney was probably blocked, which it apparently can do.
I go see the urologist in February. Yippee.

Oxalic Acid is Nommy
Date: 2010-11-23 04:49 am (UTC)I'm just one of those people who can't metabolize oxalic acid efficiently. Of course, oxalic acid is in everything good to eat or drink - spinach, iced tea, chocolate, dark beers, berries, nuts, beans, carrots, celery, soy, black pepper... I had beef stir-fry for dinner, with a teriyaki soy sauce, carrots & celery in it, & Rob picked up a thing of blueberries today, and I'm sitting here drinking iced tea. I'm mostly a meat-lover, but I gotta have mah veggies, too. I can't not eat some veggies because then I'll get the constipation and die.
I have cut out almost all the chocolate, spinach, Guinness, instant coffee & black tea. Guess I'm just gonna have to find something else I can eliminate. Maybe next will be the lima beans or brussell sprouts. Gaaahhhh, the bane of liking food!
