Bearing a Message
Jan. 28th, 2010 08:12 pmBear has been communicating with me on some level, in some way. It doesn't really apply to me, but it also keeps coming back to me and has been over the past few days, so I can only assume it's a message to broadcast.
It's something to do with her having cubs in the deep of hibernation, in winter. She is safe from harm in her den, and the cubs are safe from her because she is dreaming.
In a way, it's a message for those who endure abuse and trauma while still nourishing their creations, even when there is so much anger and rage that could be turned on the newborn. Bear wanders far and wide even when her body sleeps through winter. It does what it has to do to stay alive without her conscious interference. Her body does what it needs to do to bear and feed the cubs without her being able to stop the process or harm that to which she has given birth. A part of her knows that she is safe, deep within her sleep, and she knows she has created something wonderful and she can rest knowing that she cannot harm it, either.
Whoever you are, I think you can get some rest and let your instincts take care of business. Your body's wisdom will see you safe through this hard winter. When you emerge from your sleep, your cubs will be able to follow you wherever you decide to go.
Good luck & sweet dreams.
