Rob thinks he may have detected a lump in his epididymis. For some reason, whenever I think about cancers & tumors, I always think about teratomas. Teratomas are tumors that are basically stem cells run rampant - they develop skin, hair, teeth, vascular systems... like a person trying to become a clone a few fingers at a time (I mention this because I saw a photo of one with what looked like three decomposing fingers inside it, complete with fingernails, along with a couple of molars). I gave in to my morbid musings & spent some time looking at them online this morning. It seems strange to me that so many ovarian & uterine teratomas grow teeth. It's as if that one mute organ is trying to give itself a little power, giving itself some bite to go with its silent bark. It also sort of fits in with Freud's vagina dentata.
At any rate, there are many things that can go wrong with a testicle, and until Rob sees a doctor, he won't know exactly what's wrong with his. So for the meanwhile, he's sitting & worrying about it.
